About Liam Anderson Architectural Services Ltd (LAAS)

 

Director Liam Anderson is a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (C.I.A.T.) and has over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry.

 

LAAS is also registered with C.I.A.T as a practice and is fully indemnified.

 

Liam trained as an Architectural Technician with the Kirkcaldy based firm of Wheeler & Sprosson before moving to Montgomery Forgan Associates in Cupar where he became an Associate of the company.

 

Keen to be involved at the sharp end of the industry he joined Boyack Homes in Kirkcaldy as Production Manager, overseeing the manufacture of timber framed kits & the internal finishing materials for houses on several sites.

 

From there it was on to Headon Developments in St Andrews where Liam undertook the role of Project Manager. Here he was heavily involved in the design of traditionally constructed new build properties and was responsible for ensuring that clients expectations and requirements were fulfilled into the finished product.

 

After 7 years Liam returned to Boyack Homes as Construction Manager where he over saw several sites within the Fife, Lothians and Perth & Kinross regions.

 

A further spell back at Headon Developments was sandwiched between two spells as Installations Manager at the Perth based kitchen studio of Callum Walker Interiors.

 

This practice was set up on a part-time basis in February of 2010 before becoming full-time in December 2010.

In August 2012 the practice relocated to the Fife Renewables Innovation Centre in Methil, Fife which has conference facilities for up to 48 people & full media system for demonstration purposes. The practice can now host meetings with clients & others in a more professional setting.

An initial consultation is free and before any work is undertaken a full breakdown of all the costs involved is issued for approval by the client. LAAS will then deal with all of the statutory authorities processes on behalf of the clients from Planning and Building Control at local authority level to dealing with utility bodies such as electricity, gas, water and drainage companies.

Drawings to Planning, Listed Building Consent & Building Warrant stage for alterations & extensions to existing properties and for new build properties.

 

Issue of drawings for competitive tendering for construction works.

 

Project Management from inception through to completion of the work on site including appointing all tradesmen.

Project Co-ordination in compliance with the CDM (Construction & Design Management Regulations (not required for domestic clients)

 

Preparation of deed plans.
